Chaplain vacancy

Chaplain for the Arnhem-Nijmegen Chaplaincy
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced priest to lead our two diverse congregations. Situated in Arnhem and Nijmegen our chaplaincy includes locals and (temporary) immigrants from different denominational and cultural backgrounds and of a range of ages. We are a compact and active community with weekly services, an active young adults’ group and engaged pastoral care.

Arnhem and Nijmegen are situated in an attractive and green area in the heart of the Netherlands. The area has a good infrastructure for local, national and international travel. Both cities have good educational facilities and various national and international industries.

We are looking for a formally trained Chaplain who is rooted in the Anglican tradition and who is able to tread middle ground between traditional liturgical forms and evangelical openness to the moment.

We would like a chaplain who
• Can work collaboratively with fellow clergy, ecumenical colleagues and congregants
• Has the skills to motivate and encourage people
• Has an openness to the spirit and who has a personal relationship with God
• Has a vision and commitment to expand this small part of God’s kingdom

The opening is initially for 0.4 FTE, however the final package with regards to hours, accommodation, health insurance and pension arrangements is open for discussion. All applicants need to be fluent in English and either speak Dutch or be willing to learn Dutch. Preferably the candidate is willing to live in the Arnhem-Nijmegen area.

Closing date for applications: 5 December 2023
