Your Church cannot do without your financial support
We meet every week to worship God and to meet each other, both in Arnhem and Nijmegen. I think we can all testify to the importance of the church in our life, in good times and in bad times. Often the church was the manner in which God met with us. Those are precious moments.
As you know, our Arnhem-Nijmegen Chaplaincy depends fully on those who support us through donations and planned giving, beside the wonderful ‘profit' of about € 2000 from the Christmas Market. As a church council, we would like to encourage you to give according to your means and with a generous and thankful heart. And we like to ask you, to go ‘a second mile’ in regard to your giving.
In the last couple of years, we have made losses of around € 3000 per year; the expected loss in 2019 is € 4000. In 2020 the council would very much like to be able to convert the current Locum position into a Licensed position for our minister, which will also need extra funds.
So it is time for all of us to consider prayerfully what we can do! And then do it...
Below is a summary of ways in which we would encourage you to give, several of which can also provide tax advantages to those who pay Dutch income tax. Our church is registered as an ANBI (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling) which means that your donations to church are tax deductible.
This way you can give more and won't notice the difference in the end, as you benefit from your tax.
Please consider the following options:
1) (Extra) monthly donations via your bank. These are tax deductible. The beauty of doing this automatically, is that you do not need to remember. If you already do this, please consider raising it.
2) You can give in the offering on Sunday; if you do this in cash, it is not tax deductible. If you would like to donate in the offering and still enjoy tax deduction, you can buy collection tickets from your treasurer through a bank transfer.
3) Legal Covenant: Making a legal covenant (a notarized guarantee) to contribute a specified amount during a specified period (a minimum of five year). This is good option if your tax-deductible giving is already the maximum of 11% of your income, as this notarized Legal Covenant is tax deductible on top of the deduction you are already entitled to.
4) Legacy: Please do also consider including us as a beneficiary of your last will and testament.
