Three out of five

If we look back at 2018, we see many things that went wrong. In our own life, in our city, in our counrty, in our world. It is easy to point fingers. But have you noticed that when you point at someone, three fingers point in your own direction?
Instead of blaming others for what went wrong, it is much better to live with the realization that we are part of a broken humankind. In 2018, we have contributed to the imperfection of life. And for sure, 2019 will not be different, in spite of our best intentions.

We need the grace of God to forgive us our sins. There is no health in us. And we need God’s grace to forgive ourtselves. And to forgive others.

If I have one plan for 2019, it is to be more gracious and forgiving of what other people do, and to be kinder to those who ‘tresspass against us’. And you, can you please be patient with me? God is still working on me…

And now on a lighter note :)

On 20 January we begin with a new bible study series. We will use videos of Bishop N.T. Wright from Durham about the Letter of Paul to the Galatians.

In Nijmegen we will have our bible study on Sunday 20 January, and then every consecutive Sunday, from 1.30-2.30pm, after our worship service (11am), coffee and lunch.

In Arnhem we will begin this series of studies also on 20 January, from 3.30-4.30pm, before our worship service at 5pm.

This schedule give me about an hour to travel between Nijmegen and Arnhem. That should be long enough for not being treated to regular fanmail from CJIB in Leeuwarden. They are very unforgiving if they catch me speeding. Ah and that is a second plan for 2019. To be more careful in traffic. It has cost me too much in 2018.

God bless you!
